I don't think we will ever see an innings like the one played by Sachin Tendulkar in Gwalior. The "little Master" blazed his way to an unbeaten 200 to become the first man in the history of the game to score a double hundred in One Day Internationals, unfortunately at the expense of South Africa, but it was pretty special to watch despite the massive loss. What a privilege to have such a gifted cricketer playing in our lifetime, I mean Bradman, Viv and the many other greats had finished playing before SuperSport came along with its many channels and HD channel. The legends were not as "accessible" as the players these days and today we are spoilt for choice when it comes to sports coverage.
Tendulkar has played over 450 ODIs, scored 17 000 runs and boasts over 20 years of International cricket, the king of Mumbai also has over a billion fans in India alone and is closing on 37 years on the planet, a true legend of the game. The "Slashin Sachin" is also a shrewd businessman who cannot walk in the streets of Mumbai because he is like a flash mob magnet, but despite his records, millions of dollars and celebrity status, he remains humble and a lover of the gentleman's game, a magnificent ambassador for the sport of cricket.
